This night will be one to remember…

El Cortez Tequila Bar and Kitchen welcomes their new chef, Lindsay Porter!!! She’ll be unveiling the first flavours of her culinary talents on Valentine’s Day starting with a four course menu.

Jimmy Gnecco will be the musical guest playing the show in the tequila cellar. Jimmy opened for Lana Del Rey’s last American tour and is frontman for the band Ours. He’s heralded as one of the best voices in rock and will be accompanied by a string section. Edmonton’s Lyra Brown will open up Jimmy Gnecco. The only way to get into the concert is with a dinner reservation (the basement is first come first served until it reaches capacity). DARK MATTERS Adult Night at the Science Centre – February 19, 2015

The TELUS World of Science is celebrating their One Year Anniversary of DARK MATTERS with a Horror and Sci-Fi Short-Film Festival. Come out and celebrate local and international talent, as they showcase their films in the IMAX Theatre – on Alberta’s largest screen!

They are currently accepting short-film submissions.

Also featuring a host of freakish delights:

– Special movie props exhibit by Travis Shewchuk and
Ravenous EFX, showcasing props from Aliens, Silent Hill and Sons of Anarchy (Shewchuk’s other works seen on AMC’s Hell on Wheels and this year’s Golden Globe® winning FX series Fargo.)
– Mad Scientist Lab – We’ll show-off some of the real devices used in classic B-horror and sci-fi films & mix goulish cocktails in our cauldron.
– Real Zombies: The Strange Science of the Living Dead. We explore creatures who infect their hosts and use mind control to survive and reproduce.
– Edmonton Digital Arts College returns to transform our lobby once again with their unique twist on digital performance art.
