Inspiration

Every year the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in NYC announces the theme for their famed gala. In the past, these varied themes have ranged from Heavenly Bodies to Punk, the age of Napoleon to Jacqueline Kennedy, Cubism to the Manchu Dragon. Some years have focused directly on iconic designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Chanel, Versace and Alexander McQueen.

This year the NYC Met Gala is hosted on May 6th and the theme is Camp: Notes on Fashion. The Metropolitan Museum will have a corresponding exhibit running from May 9-Sept 9, 2019.
