This Sesquicentennial event is Fruit Loop’s contribution to Canada’s celebrations surrounding the C150+. Fruit Loop recognizes that the land that we call Canada and it’s first peoples have been around long before Confederation. This event will incorporate elements that celebrate as many sides of Canada as we can. Our aim is to provide an opportunity to explore the many facets of Canada as possible, with an LGBTQ2S lens.

Fruit Loop would like to acknowledge the support of Alberta Culture and Tourism in this event.

Chief Conductor Alexander Prior says of John Adams’ astounding Harmonielehre: “It is inspired by the era of rock ’n’ roll, by the most hard-core side of jazz, and by the sounds of the technological era we live in. The music is mesmerizingly hypnotic, and you will find yourself wanting to jump out of your seat and reach for the sky. Seldom will you come across a piece as relevant, youthful, and yet eternal.” Also featured is Jalons, the first-ever work by Iannis Xenakis performed by the ESO.
