Thomas Scott was born and raised in Vancouver where he was given a rich experience in the arts thanks to his parents who are both visual artists. He attended Glendon College, York University, and finished a general arts degree. During this time Thomas became an ardent promoter of the electronic music scene in Southern Ontario and was a special events producer and d.j. for over a decade. After going back to University to complete an Honours Degree and Masters in Drama at Guelph University, 2004, Thomas worked freelance as an arts management consultant in New York City and Toronto. In 2006, Thomas moved to Edmonton to take the position as Program Director for Fringe Theatre Adventures for six years. Currently he is working as a professional dj in Edmonton and is an arts and entertainment advocate and promoter. Thomas produces special events as well as The Culture Collective, a music, film and performing arts variety show, with his partner Kris Harvey that focuses on showcasing the very best in emerging talent. Thomas also volunteers his time as Co-Chair with artsScene Edmonton.

Molson Canadian FanFest, Saturday October 5, 2013


The Edmonton Eskimos have teamed up with Molson Canadian to bring fans one of football’s greatest traditions: a tailgate party.

I will be playing the Molson Canadian FanFest stage Saturday, October 5 at 11:30 a.m. when the Eskimos host the Montreal Alouettes in the Hall of Fame Game.

The Molson Canadian FanFest will open along Stadium Road two hours before kickoff. This is a 18+ licensed event and admission is FREE with your game ticket.

Urban Monks

Urban Monks

The Urban Monks are a DJ/VJ collective that has been creating unique events and playing in Edmonton and Alberta for the last two years. Made up of Marc Carns (Funky/Deep House) and myself (Deep/Tech House) and Owen Brierley (Live Video & Set Fabrication), this trio has played in funky venues and clubs like The Common, The Red Star Pub and the former Halo now The Bower, as well as the The Commonwealth Stadium for the Eskimos, Jubilee Auditorium, Vacancy Hall in the Mercer Building, Teddy’s Restaurant for the annual Halloween event “Boos & Spirits” and the ATB Arts Barns for the annual New Years Eve “The Goose is Loose, Laser Party”. Stay tuned for upcoming events and performance dates from the Urban Monks in the Fall and New Year.

I am a resident dj at the Mercer Tavern (10363 104 St) and play every Friday night starting at 9 pm till close for Homegrown Friday featuring special guests each month. I play the best in retro and indie music that will get you moving on the dance floor. Come and enjoy local craft beer brewed in our own backyard with a special on $4.25 Sleeves and $6.25 Pints of Yellowhead. Friday nights at the Mercer Tavern is the place to be with a hip crowd and friendly service.

I dj every Tuesday night, 8 pm till close at the Red Star Pub (10534 Jasper Ave). I play the very best in Swing, Funk, Soul, R&B, Rock&Roll and Electro/Disco sounds of the last 70 years. Dubbed True Love Tuesdays a wide variety of people come and enjoy half price wine (by the glass) and $4.25 pints of PBR. The night is supported by a cast of characters who simply love hanging out and making the Red Star the place to be on a Tuesday.
